MIZUNO SG UPCYCLING PROJECT

A NEW BEGINNING FOR DEVELOPMENT SAMPLES

As part of Mizuno’s global vision to realize a sustainable society, Mizuno Singapore joined in on local environmental conservation activities in September 2021.

In collaboration with B. T. Sports Pte. Ltd, a project to repurpose used Mizuno business waste by recycling them to become sports infrastructures such as jogging tracks, fitness corners and playgrounds are well underway.

STEP 1: SORTING MIZUNO'S DEVELOPMENT SAMPLES

All rubberised shoes including sports shoes, school shoes and football boots without metal studs are accepted. Rubberized slippers and sandals without metal parts may be accepted too.

 

 

 

 

Step 2: Unpacking at the Facility

Preparation and inspection of the donated shoes were done by B. T. Sports Pte. Ltd. 

Step 3: Grinding Shoes into Rubber Granules

The shoes are sent into a grinding machine where they are shredded into rubber granules. 

What you see above are shoes that are converted into granular materials to be used for sports infrastructure including jogging tracks and fitness corners.
